Leadership!

There is a stirring in my heart for “Leadership”.  I met with a good friend this morning to discuss what God is doing in my life. And now knowing that God is completely in control, there are questions without answers, hope within every breath of the day, and belief that all things will fall into place, as long as two principles are met. One, we have to keep our eyes on Jesus, simple and yet, at the same time, requires great discipline. Two, we must work hard and position ourselves to be used and available for His calling and direction for our life. My belief is this is the foundation that births a Leader.

I think by keeping things this focused, we can achieve a lot and learn a great deal about ourselves, life, and grace along the way.

I realized this morning that my blog has appeared to be empty for quite some time. This said, I wanted to make sure that I did something about it. For those of you that don’t know, I own a company called MogoConnect.com. We are thrilled with the success our company is having, especially in the Christian Marketplace. Our first group of clients, consist of Crown Financial Ministries, Thomas Nelson, and Catalyst.

For those of you that attended Catalyst, wouldn’t you agree that is was simply amazing! We look forward to all the things to come. If you did go, make sure you check out page 80 in your book, for a free Album Download and a few other fun downloads.

Third Day – How I met them… New CD too!

I have been a fan of Third Day for many years. It all started almost 10 years ago when I was doing financial planning for Integrity Financial Management and I had an invite from Brad Avery to come and meet with him and his wife. I remember it very clearly. Brad had a nice place, was very easy to have conversations with and I just couldn’t get over the coolness of his hair and rockstar persona. I was asking him about what he does for a living and he was telling me about his band, a band called “Third Day”. I had never heard of them at the time. Speaking of “Time”, Brad asked me if I wanted to hear their new album about to be released. I said “it’s good” and proceeded to compare mac’s voice to “Travis Tritt” HA!. Yes, I did that. Well, Brad invited me to come see his show that week and a church near Alpharetta. I went and started to get the idea that these guys were a little bigger than I had thought initially. T-Shirts, Fans, and Radio was there promoting the event. The concert started, brad kicked a crazy solo at his introduction, lights bounced to audiance and back to brad like a chineese ping pong match and a love for a new group was born. I have been privalged to meet all the members except for Mark Lee who added me to his Twitter. I have worked with one of their main producers before with an artist I was promoting at the time, and have enjoyed the experience of listening to Third Day music, and checking out there shows.

I want to make sure I mention “REVELATION” rocks! It is an amazing album and full of “My current season of life”. “Give me revelation, show me what to do”. The melody and lyrics are so right on, right now, and so personal. Third Day has always delievered albums for the “right time”. It just happens that way, God certainly has blessed these talented guys and I look forward to more stuff to come. Thanks Third Day for keeping it real!

71014_moneyhappiness_vl-verticalThe banks send you a statement everyone month, you open the statement and see your balance. How much did you spend on Starbucks this month? This can’t be right… you say! Managing our finances is such a crucial part of managing the “balance” in our lives. Lastnight, I was watching Andy Stanley discuss this very topic in a series called “Balanced”. I strongly encourage you to go to www.northpoint.org and check out the most current series. This is good for everyone to watch and certainly explains why our country is in a financial crisis, even though I “personally” refuse to subscribe to recession mindset. Andy’s video will show how to manage you money better.

Now, lets talk about some online resources for managing your money. Here are  five: There are many more.
BudgetTracker: Track everything in one place. Bills, income, statements in one main area.
Buxfer: Personal money tracker. Who owes you what?
ioweyou: Log and track your expenses in various currencies and it also offers reporting features.
Expensr: A free financial manager to help you understand where you money is going.
Lessaccounting: Expense tracker for small business
Pearbudget: Compare your expenses with what you really are spending. Desktop and Online resource.
